When Dustin Mashaney, Cody Meier and Justin Harvey started the Integrated Growers greenhouse last year in Lookeba, they didn’t know just how successful it would be.
“We kind of saw a need for vegetable plants and flowers,” Mashaney said. “We opened up a little business, and really didn’t expect what it’s turned into. It’s kind of blown up.”
“We went to an auction and found some flowers,” Meier said, “and we couldn’t get enough. They were flying off the shelves.”
So much so that the business didn’t just stay in Lookeba for its second season, which stated earlier this month. Integrated Growers has now opened a second location right here in Blaine County, in Meier’s hometown of Hitchcock.
The new Integrated Growers will still offer a selection of flowers, vegetables, hanging baskets and more, just like its Caddo County affiliate, Meier said.
“Petunias are our big seller,” he said. “We do a lot of hanging baskets, and they just continue to get bigger. We’ve got a lot of bedding plants, too.”
The Hitchcock location celebrated its opening this past weekend. Meier said it will be open every Wednesday through Saturday this spring, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or by appointment. “I can meet anybody here at any time,” Meier said.
Integrated Growers is located at 105 E. Satterlee Ave. in Hitchcock or 13115 CR 1150 in Lookeba. The Hitchcock location can be reached at 580-791-3210, and more information is available on the Integrated Growers Facebook group.
