According to court documents, Rickey Dale Chandler of Longdale is facing felony charges of first-degree rape stemming from a November 2019 incident.
The probable cause affidavit shows that Chandler, 52 at the time, met with the victim and her boyfriend at a local bar. They were celebrating the boyfriend’s birthday. The party later moved to another nearby bar and stayed until it closed about 2 a.m. Everyone then went to Chandler’s residence in Longdale, where the victim and her boyfriend argued. The boyfriend left and the victim and another woman got into the backyard hot tub. They were wearing undergarments, but later each took off her bra.
The victim told sexual assault investigators she came to in the accused’s bedroom, on the floor, naked. The suspect, the affidavit reads, was performing sexual acts on her even over her protests. She repeatedly passed out from the amount of alcohol consumed and came to and found him having sex with her. At that point, she told investigators she told Chandler to stop and told him no multiple times, but he did not stop.
The victim told investigators she tried to kick Chandler and get out from under him but was too weak to do so.
Once released from the emergency room, Blaine County Sheriff’s officers transported the victim to Enid where she underwent a sexual assault nurse examination.
The result of the sexual assault exam was returned from OSBI in February 2024. Investigators from Blaine County Sheriff’s Office reinterviewed the victim in March 2024 and found her story remained unchanged even though several years had passed.
The exam showed the accused’s DNA was found on the victim’s body. The victim at the time of the incident was too intoxicated to have given legal consent to sexual activity, according to the affidavit.
The suspect admitted to having sex with the victim, but claimed it was in the hot tub. The witness stated otherwise, and any DNA deposited on the victim would have been washed away in the hot tub. Lastly, the victim told investigators her underwear was missing when she left the Longdale house. It was found with the suspect’s clothing when a search warrant was executed at the home the next day.
Following his arrest July 15, Chandler posted bond of $25,000. His next scheduled appearance is scheduled for July 30 at the Blaine County Courthouse in Watonga.
