The Caddo County Retired Educators will hold its next meeting on Monday, March 11 at the state capitol.

Members interested in going to the state capitol are encouraged to meet at 9 a.m. at the seal on the floor just past security.

That day is also Retiree’s Day at the capitol. There will be a rally in the house chamber that morning.

There will also be lots of booths set up about retirement issues. President Paula Squires can get it set up for the group to have box lunches at the OREA Office Conference Room in the OEA Building about 1:30 giving members time to contact their representatives and senators.

Those wanting to eat lunch with the group need to text Paula by Friday, March 8 so that she can get food ordered.

There will be a booth at the capitol manned by OREA employees where members can pick up talking points, names of senators and representatives and their office locations.

With parking limited it would be best if the town groups travel together-Carnegie group, Ft. Cobb group, Hinton group, and Mountain View-Gotebo group.

It is advised to park in the east parking lot just across the street from the governor’s mansion and getting into the capitol would be through the tunnel.

The Caddo County Retired Educators is open to any retired educator in the area. Even though there are just a few monthly meetings remaining in this school year, all retired educators are encouraged to attend.
