As part of the renovation of Lucky Star Casino in Watonga, a new restaurant opened there earlier this month.
The Rez offers burgers, sandwiches, steaks and more for casino-goers or any hungry locals. It is the second Rez location; there is also one inside the Lucky Star in Concho.
The Rez will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to Lucky Star spokesperson Rachel Smith. It opened on May 5.
Its appetizer menu includes “Mega Nachos” smothered in cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and green onions with your choice of chicken or beef. Other appetizers include cheese fries; chips with queso, salsa or guacamole; and a mix-and-match sampler with options including chicken wings, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers.
The Rez’s burgers include a half-pound “Classic Burger” and a “Bacon Cheeseburger,” and also a one-pound “Monster Burger” with four slices of cheese.
The restaurant’s sandwich selection includes a hearty “Triple-Decker Club” and a “Crispy Chicken Honey Bacon Sandwich.” The classic pasta dish spaghetti and meatballs is available as well, along with soups and salads.
But the Rez’s most exciting menu items might be its classic Indian tacos – fry bread topped with beef, beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions – or its chicken fried steak or 16 oz. ribeye.
For dessert, the Rez offers delicious cheesecake. The restaurant also has a kids menu.
Lucky Star is located at 1407 S Clarence Nash Boulevard in Watonga.
