Hi, everyone! I thought for a while I might have to get my news to the paper by boat! But it all worked out. We have really had a lot of rain, especially for July. Who knows if it will continue?
We are beginning to collect items for our garage sale. My daughter is donating several items. There are two tall curio cabinets that I believe belonged to my mother, both yellow. She also has my mom’s pig collection she is donating and her late husband’s salt and pepper shaker collection. Our sale will be the first weekend in August.
Last Saturday we had 25 people that came in to play games and listen to music. David Green played for us, he does such a good job. Then we had a bunch playing 13, some played Chickenfoot, some played dominos and some played skip-bo. We always have a good time and there’s always plenty of good food. Plan to come join us on the 22nd when we meet again.
The Cheyenne Quilt Guild will be meeting at 7 p.m. July 17 at the Center. If you like to quilt or would like to learn come and join them. They’ll be happy to help you.
We don’t have a quilt in the frame right now as we need the space for our garage sale items. I’m sure they’ll be putting one in after the sale is over and we’ve put away all that’s left.
Friday July 21 the ladies will be coming to check blood pressure and blood sugar. They’ll be in around 10:30 a.m. and usually stay about an hour. It’s free to everyone and no appointment is needed.
Last week we were closed on Tuesday but on the other days meals were delivered by Susan Shrader, Connie George, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Sharon Barnes. A big thank you to all of you for donating your time to help with this program. We couldn’t do it without you.
We received a donation from B&W Ready Mix. Thank you for thinking of us.
Some of you must read my column because last week we had several more orders to take out and some more came in to eat. I really appreciate that. The Senior Center really needs your help to keep operating. With expenses continually going up, we need more folks coming in to eat.
This is our menu for the next few days. Call us before 10 a.m. to place an order to be delivered and before noon to order a meal to go. Or come in and eat with us, we’d be delighted to see you!
Thursday – July 13 Baked pork chops Friday – Chicken and noodles Monday – Chicken pot pie Tuesday – Breaded chicken breast Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.
Thursday – July 20 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken And Thursday mornings beginning at 8 a.m. we have biscuits and gravy. Call ahead for one to go.
I hope you all have a great week. Take care of yourselves and stay safe. ‘Til next week …
