EWS
Hi, everyone. I’m sorry I didn’t have a column last week. There was just no way I could get one written. I’d been so sick that I couldn’t do anything, I was that weak. I’m still very weak and can’t go for very long or walk very far without having to sit down.
It all started two weeks ago with a slight fever. By Wednesday I couldn’t get around and was shaking like a leaf. John and my daughter Shannon took me to the ER where my fever was 103 degrees. The tests showed I didn’t have Covid or the flu. They gave me an antibiotic and sent me home. I was also taking acetaminophen every six hours. If I missed the mark, the fever came back.
On Friday my condition wasn’t any better, so John took me to the ER at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. There, they ran numerous tests looking for some type of infection. They found nothing so the doctors said it must be some type of virus that wasn’t showing up in their tests. So, I came home, continued the antibiotics and acetaminophen until my fever finally broke. Since I had not been eating or taking my regular medications, I was very weak. I finally made up my mind I had to eat and get back on the medications.
Meanwhile, here’s the news from the senior center.
