EWS

Hi, everybody! What a beautiful weekend we had for the Cheese Festival. It was a little cool and windy, but overall, a really nice day. I hope you were able to get out and visit some of the vendors. I didn’t make it downtown, but I did make it to the Armory. There were some very interesting booths there. The ladies with the ceramics just inside the south door had some really pretty items. I could have spent a fortune there but restrained myself. I have enough stuff already. I had to have some cheese curds though. I haven’t had any in quite a while. Then back in the back I found the lady with the kitchen towels that hang around the neck. I had to have a couple of those. When I’m cooking I can never find a towel when I need one.

I purchased some tickets for the raffle but I guess I didn’t win since my phone hasn’t rung. I’m not very lucky when it comes to drawings.

I want to shout out a big THANK YOU to all of you who came to share turkey and dressing with us on Friday. So many people came in to get meals we ran out of turkey a little after noon. John and I waited to miss the rush but instead we missed the turkey. We got there and they were taking the sign down off the front door. We ate dressing and all the other trimmings. It was all really good. I brought dressing home for my supper, then cooked a couple of chicken thighs and opened a jar of turkey gravy. It was really good too, and the apricot pie I had was delicious. It turned out to be a great fundraiser for the center, and I thank each of you who attended.

Saturday morning John was working the pancake breakfast for the Masons but he slipped away around 9 o’clock to come get me. I think it was one of the best breakfasts they’ve had. Everything was delicious, they had a great turnout, right up to closing time. The proceeds were to help with Terri Pinkerton’s medical expenses.

Saturday afternoon we watched the OSU game and ate cheese curds. So good! We didn’t meet for games Saturday night but we will meet at 6 p.m. on October 28.

Margie Smith brought in more cans to recycle and the Watonga Christian Church sent a donation. We’re thankful for it all.

Quilters last week were Estalene Teply, Louise Cooper and Judy Curtin. They have almost finished the quilt in the frame. There is also a beautiful quilt hanging for all to see. It was made by Maxine Strack. It’s in shades of brown with a touch of blue. Come by and see it.
