Hi Everyone! I’m hoping that last week was a good one for you. John and I managed to get away for a couple of days. We went over to Skiatook Lake to check it out. Our grand-daughter. Alyssa has been working as a park ranger at the lake. She is actually doing her internship towards her master’s degree at Southwester. She loves the work and the lake and area are beautiful. It was nice to get away, even for only a couple of days.

I want to thank Mae Thompson for filling in for me on Friday. Maybe I’ll help her out one day.

We’ve been running short on volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you could volunteer a couple of hours once in a while we would really appreciate it. Give us a call at 623-4511.

We had a couple of new volunteers last week. They were Brenda Rice and Tammy Edsall. They really filled a need for us on Wednesday. Others that delivered last week were Janet Taylor and Regina Glass, Tina Grubbs Janis Hood and Peggy Franks. Thanks to all of you for helping.

Mark your calendars for next week’s menu. It is-

Thursday- Breaded Pork Loin

Friday- Roast Beer (Birthday Dinner)

Monday- Turkey Sandwich with French Fries

Tuesday- Steak Fingers

Wednesday- Breaded Chicken Breast

Thursday- Ham and Beans

Friday- Indian Tacos

Give us a call for an order to go. Call before 10 if you need it delivered.

Don’t forget, we also have biscuits and gravy on Thursday Mornings.

Here’s a reminder for you. We will be closed for Labor Day on Monday September 7th.

Janet Edsall brought in a lot of cucumbers and okra one day. We really appreciate these fresh vegetables. Everyone had a chance to take some home. Thank you Janet!

We received some nice donations from B & W Ready Mix and MaryAnne Nitzel. Thank you for thinking of us.

Gene and Bob Matli got a new quilt put in the frame this last week. We thank them for doing that. Our Quilters have waited patiently for a new quilt to work on. If you like to quilt or would like to learn how, come on Thursday mornings. One of our Quilting ladies will be glad to visit with you about it. We need more quilters.

If you like to read, we have several shelves of books of all kinds. You are welcome to take what you like, read them, then return them for more! We also always have some kind of puzzle out to work on. Some times they are rather difficult. They’re always so pretty when they are finished.

Well that’s about it for this week. I hope you have a good week. Stay safe and well. Wear those mask and wash those hands! Til next week...
