Hi Everyone! Well another we has come and gone and we’re all hanging in there hopefully doing good. We had a good week at the center. We did have a little scare on Friday when one of our air conditioners quit. It began getting warm pretty quick. We had Shannon Sinclair and Brandon come soon. The ended changing the batteries in the wall control unit and it began working right away. Thank you Shannon and Brandon.

Donations we received this week were Best Choice labels from Smokey Rogers, and okra from Janet Edsall and Janice hood. Thank you Smokey, Janet and Janice. A lot of people got to eat fresh okra.

We received a donation from Deborah and Larry Block in memory of Idalue Ivins. I need to make a correction to an earlier donation. B.J. Webb’s donation earlier in August was mad in memory of Marilyn Cook. We are very thankful for all these donations.

Our meals for the coming week sound really good.

They will be:

Thursday – Ham and Beans

Friday – Indian Tacos

Monday - Closed For Labor Day

Tuesday – Taco Salad

Wednesday – Ham and Sweet Potatoes

Thursday - Sausage and Sauerkraut

Friday – Chicken Spaghetti

Give us a call at 6234511 if you would like to pick up a meal to go, or come in and eat with those of us that are there. For delivered meals call before 10 a.m.

We are not getting a very good response to our biscuits and gravy on Thursday mornings. We may have to discontinue this breakfast item. We will let you know if we do so.

We have had some roofing company representatives in to look at our needed roof repairs. We’ll be receiving some bids within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully we will get it repaired before the fall rain begins.

It was nice to see Gene Matli sitting at the new quilt in the frames, quilting up a storm. So glad she felt like coming in. Judy Poarch has also been in to work on it. Thank you ladies. I talked with Gene about how they will be quilting it. Sounds like its going to take a while. Feel free to come and quilt on it.

We has some new faces leading our exercise class this week. on Wednesday it was Larry Kerr who was in for Estalene. On Friday it was Esther Arnold leading. Thank you Larry and Esther.

We were sorry to hear about Peggy Franks accident. It has put her out of commission for a while. She wont be able to help deliver Meals on Wheels for a while. We will be calling some of those new volunteers to help out.

Last week’s deliverers were Joe and Teresa Bryan. Janice Hood, Mary Brown and Karen Dugger, and Janet Taylor and Regina Glass. Thank you all so much for your help.

That’s about all of my news from the Center. Come by to see us, but bring your mask.

Everyone, take care and stay well. Wear those masks and wash those hands. Til next week…
