SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi, everyone! It’s so good to be back with you. I’m doing pretty good today; I have good days and bad days. At least I’m getting out more. And my husband John has been wonderful. He’s always there when I need him.

We received more memorial donations last week. Curtis and Liz Schenk and R.D. Henry and Co. donated in memory of Lary Hollis. Jimmy and Jean Solomon, Lousi Ray Allen family and Don and Sandra Maddux donated in memory of John Paul Ridenhour. Thank you for all these donations.

Quilters last week were Judy, Louise and Estalene. It’s good to see they are quilting more often. They would sure like to have your company while they are sewing. If you don’t want to quilt, that’s fine, too. They like to visit.

Last week Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman delivered our meals on wheels. Thank you all for your help.

This Saturday, May 11, the Masons will be serving up breakfast for everyone. All donations are appreciated. They start serving at 7 a.m. At 6 p.m. we will meet for games, music and good food. Everyone is welcome to join us, please bring a covered dish to share. We stay until about 9 p.m.

I almost forgot to remind you that Sunday May 12 is Mother’s Day. Think about your mother and what she has done for you. If nothing else, give her a call, she’ll love it!

Here’s a reminder that there are still exercise classes at 9 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Everyone is welcome, even if they are not a senior citizen or a member of our group.

If you need a meal delivered please call before 10 a.m. and if you want one to go, call before noon.

And remember we have biscuits and gravy every Thursday morning beginning at 8. This is by donation.

Here’s our menu for the next few days: meals are served from 11:30-12:30 each day.

Thursday, May 9 – Baked potatoes Friday – Breaded pork loin Monday – Chicken strips Tuesday – Goulash Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday, May 16 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken I’m a bit short on news this week. I hope I have more for you next week. Until then, take care, stay safe and well. ’ Til next week …
