EWS
For many years Sharon Gates has written the news from the Watonga Senior Center and she has done a fabulous job. The time has come for her to pass the torch so I have picked it up. I will try my best to make Sharon proud.
The turkey and dressing dinner was a great success and we want to thank everyone who came out to support the center.
It appears fall has arrived and temperatures are a little cooler but we have a lot of things going on at the center.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday we have exercise class at 9 a.m. There is no charge and everyone is welcome. Participants can exercise at their own rate. This is a judgement free class!
Monday-Friday we serve delicious lunches for only $7. We serve from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. except Wednesdays when we serve from 11 a.m.noon. The center can also deliver lunches if you call before 10 a.m.
Menus for the next week are : Thursday Oct. 24 – Ham and sweet potatoes Friday – Roast beef Monday – Soup and chili Tuesday – Chicken strips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon; we eat at 11 a.m.
All meals include meat, potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salad, homemade rolls and dessert, plus tea. What a bargain for $7!
Our lunch deliveries this week were made by Hailey Boden, Vernon Brickman, Curt and Brenda Stein, and Janice Hood, who delivered two days. We appreciate their service.
Denise and Sam Case, Wyatt and Matt Tyson, Jennifer Sheilds and Hank and Jay Sheilds donated in memory of Willie Crats.
On Thursday mornings, we serve biscuits and gravy by donation. Get it to go or stay and enjoy it with us.
Saturday, October 26, the center will host fun and games from 6-9 p.m. Bring a snack to share while enjoying live music, cards, dominoes and pool.
Happy Halloween from all of us at Watonga Senior Center.
