It’s Halloween week and at the Watonga Senior Center you will only get treats, no tricks. Hopefully, our menu each day will be spooktacular: Thursday, Oct. 31 – Chicken fried steak Friday – Indian tacos Monday – Taco salad Tuesday – Chicken strips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon; we eat at 11 a.m.
Dine in meals are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday meals are from 11- noon. Call each morning by 10 a.m. for home delivery.
Our deliveries this week were made by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. Their services are essential and thoroughly appreciated.
We received a donation this week from the Cheyenne Quilt Guild in memory of John Oler. We always accept Best Choice labels, so if you have any, bring them by the center. When we get a large amount, we sent them to the company who sends us a monetary reward for them.
Tuesday, Nov. 5 is election day. This year’s presidential election is very important and it is our duty as Americans to exercise the right we have been given. That is the right to vote for our leaders. Early voting is available beginning Wednesday so we all have ample opportunities to cast a ballot. Get out and vote!
Saturday night we held fun and games. More than 17 people attended, enjoying snacks, cards, dominoes and fun. David Green and Tom Autry provided live music. The next fun and games session will be held November 9, so mark it on your calendars.
Cold and flu season is here. The Blaine County Health Department has flue shots, so if you haven’t had yours, it’s time. I have gotten mine and another COVID booster. Seniors have to take care of themselves.
The weatherman predicts rain and cooler temps this week. We hope he is right because November is right around the corner!
Come to the senior center to exercise at 9 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. We know the holidays are coming and that means good eating. Let’s get in shape for those pies, candies and stuffing!
Have a safe week.
