Here we are in December. Is it only me or has the past year flown by? Here is a quote about time: “Time moves in one direction, memory in another.” Isn’t this true? As I get older, I remember little things that have happened and realize how special those things were. I was fortunate enough to spend time with greatgrandmothers, grandmothers, aunts and uncles and cousins. Nowadays, families are spread out and don’t have those memories that make up our past. We can make some new memories here in the next few weeks in Watonga.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, Santa’s Village and Craft Fair will be at the Fairgrounds from 9 a. m.4 p.m. The local school bands will have their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 8.
On Friday, Dec. 13, the Senior Citizens Center will have Turkey and Dressing for lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for only $7! This is a major fundraiser, and you don’t want to miss it. That day means bad luck to some folks, so don’t risk anything by cooking that day—come eat with us!
On Sunday and Monday, Dec. 15 -16, there will be a Christmas play at the Liberty Theatre. The admission is an unwrapped toy and will feature some great music. Many churches will also have Christmas programs this month. So, there is a lot to do here in Watonga.
