It has been another wintry week here in Watonga! All of us at the Watonga Senior Center hope that you have been safe and warm. We have activities here at the center to keep you warm and entertained. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9- 9:45 a.m. we have exercise class. This is a free class, and everyone is welcome to participate. We have lunch daily, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except Wednesday when we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Lunch is $7 and on Thursdays, we have biscuits and gravy from 810 a.m. Biscuits and gravy are by donation. We also have quilting on Thursdays.
Saturday, January 25, we will have games and music from 6 -9 p.m. This is free, and all you need to do is bring a snack to share. There are card games, dominoes, pool and live music.
Our menu for the next week is: Thursday, Jan. 23 Chicken Casserole Friday Ham and Sweet Potatoes Monday Chili or Soup Tuesday Sausage and Sauerkraut Wednesday Chicken Spaghetti Thursday, Jan. 30 Breaded Pork Loin Friday Roast Beef (Birthday Dinner) If you are a paid member of the Watonga Senior Center (and dues are $15 per year) you get a FREE meal on the last Friday of the month, which is January 31 this month. We encourage everyone to join.
Call any morning before 10 a.m. to get home delivery of your meal. You do not have to sign up to do it every day, unless you want to. Our deliveries were made this week by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. A big thanks to them.
Donations this week were made by Connie George for Ruth Ann Swaim and Judy Curtin; by Eloise Espy and Yvonne Christensen for Max Clark and by Estelene Teply for Bob Matli.
Memberships were renewed by Bill and Prissy Ice and Connie George.
Quilters were Louise Cooper, Margarett Parman and Estelene Teply. They are doing a great job on the quilt here.
The Cheyenne Quilt Guild postponed their meeting and sew-a-long until Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9-11a.m. Anyone interested in quilting, learning to quilt or needing help is encouraged to attend.
The Center needs a refrigerator, freezer and a computer. If you are upgrading, or downsizing, we can use these items. These items are expensive new and we appreciate any donations we receive.
Until next week, please stay warm, practice kindness and check on friends and neighbors.
