SENIOR CENTER NEWS

EWS

It appears that the groundhog saw his shadow on February 2, so that means six more weeks of winter weather. That comes as no surprise to us, does it? But we have had a few warmer days to enjoy. Our menus at the Senior Center will keep you warm: Thursday, Feb. 6 Breaded Chicken Breast Friday Indian Tacos Monday Taco Salad Tuesday- Barbecue Sausage Wednesday Kiwanis Meet (Spaghetti and Meat Sauce) Thursday, Feb.13 Steak Fingers Friday - Chicken Salad Sandwiches We eat Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. except Wednesday, when we eat on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon. Come join us any day or call before 10 a.m. for home delivery. All ages are welcome!

This week our deliveries were made by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Curt and Brenda Stein and Vernon Brickman, who delivered on two days. Thanks to them.

Memberships were renewed by Larry and Nada Kerr, Karolyn Ingram and Mervyn Jones. Memberships are $15 per year and help with our center’s expenses.

Memorial donations this week were made by the Cheyenne Quilt Guild for Judy Curtin. Patt Curtin donated for Bob Matli; Curtis and Brenda Stein for Alice Hinkle; Mary May for Max Clark and Bob Matli; Sharon Barnes and Karen Dugger for Alice Hinkle; and Jim and Mae Thompson for Robert Diamond.

The week of Feb. 7 14 is known as Valentine’s Week. Why just celebrate one day, when you can celebrate a lot more love? Feb. 7 is Rose Day; Feb. 8 is Propose Day; Feb. 9 is Chocolate Day, Feb. 10 is Teddy Day, Feb.11 is Promise Day; Feb. 12 is Hug Day; Feb. 13 is Kiss Day and Feb. 14 is Valentine’s Day. It is easy to give your loved ones something special each day—a warm hug or kiss.

We are still in need of a freezer, refrigerator, and a computer. If you know someone who is updating or moving or simply down-sizing, keep us in mind. Happy Valentine’s Day from the Watonga Senior Citizens Center.
