EWS

One thing you can say about Oklahoma weather is that if you don’t like it, wait 15 minutes and it will change! Isn’t that true about this past week! We had temperatures in the 80s, winds up to 70 miles per hour and lows in the 30s. I remember my mother and grandmother talking about the Dust Bowl Days, and how they put damp cloths over their windows to try to keep out dust. They turned their cups, glasses, bowls, etc., upside down to keep them clean. That went on for days. Can you imagine? We freaked out over one day of high winds, losing power long enough to mess up our tvs! Are we spoiled or what? Also, this week spring begins on Thursday, March 20. This is called the vernal equinox—when the sun and the Earth’s equator align. I have seen some daffodils blooming already, as well as Bradford pear trees. Grass is beginning to green up a little, too.

We plan to get in our yards and gardens to work. You may want to join us on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to exercise for the spring. We meet from 9- 9:45 a.m. and this is a free service. Come see what we are doing!
