EWS
Earlier this spring, we were praying for rain and now we are receiving it. We are grateful but can any more be delayed until after the farmers get their wheat harvested? We received several inches last week and now we need a break. While we are breaking, this is a good time to come to the Watonga Senior Citizens Center and join us for lunch. Our menu for the next week is: Thursday, June 19 Liver and Onions Friday Fried Chicken Monday Chicken Strips Tuesday`Barbecue Pork Wednesday Chicken Fried Steak (Kiwanis Meets) Thursday, June 26 Ham and Beans Friday Roast Beef (Birthday Meal) We eat each day, except Wednesday, from 11a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Wednesday, when Kiwanis meets, we eat from 11a.m. to noon. Our meals include a meat dish, potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, salad, homemade dinner roll, dessert and drink for only $7. Call any morning before 10 a.m. for home delivery.
Our meals were delivered last week by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We appreciate their dedication and service.
We received a donation of Best Choice labels from Margie Smith this week. Also, Carla Greer had asked Jason Cooper and Kevin Randle to spray and weed eat the front of our center. They did and it looks great. Thanks to all of them.
On Friday June 20, nurses from Mercy Hospital will come to take blood pressure readings and check glucose levels for us, at no charge. We all need to monitor these health items, at any age.
Our exercise program is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. This is a free program and everyone is encouraged to join us. We have some great exercise leaders and the average attendance is about 20!
On Friday mornings, after exercises we have several ladies who play cards. Last week we had two tables of them, having fun before lunch here.
If you are a paid member of the center, you will receive a free meal on the last Friday of your birth month. This month’s June babies will eat free on June 27. Our annual membership is $15.
We hope to see you at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center this week!
