We are now officially into fall! Fall started on Monday, with day length (the time of daylight between sunrise and sunset) being about 12 hours and 9 minutes. The days will continue to get shorter until the winter solstice on December 21, with us losing at least one minute in day length daily. The winter solstice brings the longest night or less daylight than any other 24-hour period in the year. Wow! Now you know! So with fall here, there is no better time to get acquainted with us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center. E v e n though we are a senior citizen facility, our doors are open to anyone of any age. You are welcome to eat with us, exercise with us, come to Fun and Game Nights, or quilt with us. Come visit us and see what goes on here. Our upcoming menu is: Thursday, Sept. 25 Chicken Strips Friday Roast Beef (Birthday Dinner) Monday Chili or Vegetable Soup Tuesday Chicken Strips Wednesday R o a s t Pork (Kiwanis meets) Thursday, Oct. 2Breaded Chicken Breast Friday Indian Tacos We eat daily, except Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Our meals last week were delivered by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. Our thanks to them.
Our lone quilter this week was Louise Cooper, and she is doing an excellent job.
We received a donation from Eloise Espy. Even though she has left our area, she still thinks of us. We miss her and thank her.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, we will host our Fun and Games Night from 6 - 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to bring a snack to share and play card, dominoes, pool or listen to live music.
We exercise at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All are encouraged to join us and get our bodies moving.
You can see we have various activities and would love to have you join us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center!
