SENIOR CENTER NEWS

EWS

The weather has certainly fluctuated from cold to warm. We have been spoiled by the milder temperatures of the past few weeks and some are unhappy with the wind and cooler temperatures. But remember, this is Oklahoma! Just wait 10 minutes and the weather will change. One thing that does not change is the friendly faces and delicious food at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center. Our menu is as follows: Thursday, Jan. 22 Chili Dogs Friday Chicken Fried Steak Monday Chili or Vegetable Soup Tuesday Beef Pot Pie Wednesday Chicken Spaghetti (Kiwanis Meets) Thursday, Jan. 29 Ham and Beans Friday Roast Beef (Birthday Dinner) If you are a paid member of the center (and annual dues are $15) and you have a January birthday, you will receive a FREE meal on Friday, January 30. We eat each day from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except Wednesday, when we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Call us at 580-623-4511 any morning before 10 for home delivery. Our meals are still $7!

Last week we received two new members, Golda Hamilton and Jerry Sinclair.

Home deliveries were made last week by Sharon Barnes (2 days), Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We are grateful for their loyal service.

On Saturday, January 24, we will host our bimonthly Fun and Games Night from 6 -9 p.m. Come join in playing cards, dominoes, pool, or puzzling with live music. The group who meets call themselves The Saturday Night Gang and they gave the center a very nice donation. We are grateful for them.

There are some notable days coming up: January 23, National Pie Day; January 24, National Peanut Butter Day; January 26, National Bubble Wrap Day; January 27, National Chocolate Cake Day; and January 28, National Blueberry Pancake Day. These days give us something to celebrate that is good to eat and not feel guilty about when we indulge!

Come visit us and have lunch with us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center.
