The weather has been nice these past few days, except we did not get rain that we desperately need. Hopefully, it will come soon. I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and got to eat some good chocolate! On Friday, February 20, the nurses from Mercy Hospital Watonga will be at the center to take blood pressures and glucose levels. This is a free service and they come about 9:45 a.m. You should come exercise with us at 9 a.m. and your blood pressure should be levelling off; don’t eat a donut before class and your sugar will be good. Sounds like a plan, right?
Our upcoming menu is: Thursday, Feb. 19 Liver and Onions Friday Fried Chicken Monday Vegetable Soup or Chili Tuesday Chicken Strips Wednesday Barbecue Ribs (Kiwanis Meets) Thursday, Feb. 26 Chicken Fried Steak Friday Roast Beef (Birthday Dinner) We eat each day, except Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Call any morning before 10 for home delivery. Our phone number is 580-623-4511.
You will receive a meat dish, potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, salad, homemade roll, homemade dessert and a drink for $7. That is a bargain because you don’t have to wash dishes afterwards.
Our meals were delivered last week by Sharon Barnes (two days), Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We are very grateful for their giving of their time.
On Friday, February 27, we will have our monthly Birthday Dinner. If you are a paid member of the center (annual dues are $15) and your birthday is in February, you will receive a FREE meal on that day. The next night, Saturday, Feb. 28, we will host our Game Night from 6 -9 p.m. Bring a snack to share and enjoy games and live music with the Saturday Night Gang, February is the bridge between winter and spring and a time for love, patience and beginnings. Focus on selflove, nurturing relationships and maintaining hope for the warmer days ahead.
“In February there is everything to hope for and nothing to regret.”
“Let February be the month you conquer your doubts and chase your dreams.”
Come see us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center!
