We hope you all remembered to “Spring Forward” one hour last weekend, for the beginning of Daylight Saving Time. I did remember but it takes me a few days to get my body to remember! Saturday, March 14, the Watonga Masonic Lodge will host its monthly breakfast at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center from 710 a.m. Join them for a delicious start to your weekend. Also, that evening the Saturday Night Gang will host its Fun and Games Night from 6- 9 p.m. They have card games, dominoes, puzzles, pool and live music.
Each weekday, the Watonga Senior Citizens Center has a hot lunch for $7! We serve a meat entrée, potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salad, homemade roll and dessert, with a drink. What a bargain! We eat each day, except Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, when Kiwanis meets, we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Call us at 580-623-4511 before 10 a.m. for home delivery.
Our home deliveries were made last week by Connie George, Susan Shrader, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We thank them for their services each week.
Our upcoming menu is: Thursday, March 12 Barbecue Sausage Friday Chicken Fried Steak Monday Chili or Vegetable Soup Tuesday Chicken Strips Wednesday Ham and Sweet Potatoes (KIWANIS MEETS) Thursday, March 19 Liver and onions Friday Fried Chicken Arlyn and Joy Moon donated last week. These donations help keep our center running.
Quilters last week were Martha White and Louise Cooper, and they are doing a beautiful job on the quilt in our frame.
We hope you have marked your calendars for April 10 for the Watonga Masonic Lodge fund-raiser at the center. We will serve chicken and noodles from 5 -7 p.m. with a dessert auction at 6 p.m. Make plans to come join us then!
March is the month where I can’t decide if I need sunscreen or a snow shovel!
