Come dine with us any day except Wednesday, when Kiwanis meets at the center, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays we dine from 11 a.m. to noon. Our meals are $7, no tax and no gratuity necessary. Our upcoming menu is: Thursday, March 19 Liver and Onions Friday Fried Chicken Monday Chili or Vegetable Soup Tuesday Tatertot Casserole Wednesday Breaded Pork Loin Thursday, March 26 Chicken Alfredo Friday Roast Beef (Birthday dinner) If you are a member of the center, annual dues of $15 and you have a birthday in March, you will receive a FREE meal on Friday, March 27. Two people paid their annual dues this past week: Leroy Alsup and Mary May. Thanks to them for helping support our center.

Call the center, any morning before 10 for home delivery of our meals. The deliveries were made last week by Teresa Bryan, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We are very grateful to have them help us and you.

We received a donation from Andy Barrett last week. People leave aluminum cans behind our building for recycling, and Andy picks them up to take them to a recycling facility. Andy then donates the proceeds to us. We are very appreciative of this.

Our quilters last week were Louise Cooper and Estalene Teply. They are doing a beautiful job on the quilt in our frame.

This Friday, March 20, the nurses from Mercy Hospital Watonga will be at the center about 9:45 a.m. to take blood pressure and glucose levels. This is a free service and we appreciate them helping us. As we age, we need to keep track of this information, and this is a convenient service.

On April 10, beginning at 5 p.m. the Masonic Lodge of Watonga will have a fundraiser for the Watonga Senior Citizens’ Center. It will be a chicken and noodle dinner and dessert auction. The auction will take place at 6 p.m. Tickets will be $15, or a generous donation. We will serve chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, salad, homemade rolls and homemade dessert. It is a delicious meal, followed by the dessert auction, where some of our area’s best bakers will donate their cakes, pies, cookies, etc. Come join us for a yummy evening!

Some March thoughts: “Me: Will it be hot, cold, sunny or rainy today? Spring: Yes” Finally, my winter fat is gone, Now I have spring rolls.
