June is here and it marks the half-way point of the year. It seems that only a few weeks ago, we had that bad February snowstorm. June brings us the summer solstice, with the longest day of the year. June 14 is Flag Day, the day we celebrate the introduction of our American flag. June brings us Fathers’ Day on June 21—a day to honor our dads and other influen tial men in our lives. You can honor us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center by having lunch with us any weekday. We eat from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day except Wednesday, when we eat from 11 a.m. to noon. Our menu is as follows: Thursday, June11 Breaded Pork Loin Friday Chicken Fried Steak Monday Chili or Vegetable Soup Tuesday Ham and Beans Wednesday Chicken Fried Steak (Kiwanis Meets) Thursday, June 18 Liver and Onions Friday Fried Chicken
Our meals were deliv ered last week by Susan Shrader, Connie George, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. Call the center any morning before 10 at 580-623 4511 for home delivery.
We want to thank Tosha Sinclair for the donation of several dozen farm-fresh eggs. They were enjoyed by many of us.
Louise Cooper and Estalene Teply were our quilters last week.
On Tuesday, June 16, we will hold primary elec tions in the State of Oklahoma. Please, exer cise your privilege to vote for your favorite candi date. Our freedom was based on electing our gov erning officials. With all of the negative publicity given on television and delivered to our mailbox es, it is a difficult decision which candidate to back. So, study those running and get out and vote!
Join us at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center any day for lunch or exercise. We welcome you.
