SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi Everyone! I hope you’re all doing good. My shingles are getting better and, so far, nothing new is popping up so I must be on the road to recovery. I sure hope so. I’m so tired of being sick.

Last Thursday we had 13 in for biscuits and gravy. John and Kelly enjoyed some good pool playing. Others just visited. There were no quilters.

Sharon Barnes renewed her membership. Thank you Sharon.

Elaine Compton donated cans. We appreciate that Elaine.

A couple more memorial donations were received. One was from Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Touchstone for J.C. Howry. The other was from Yvonne Christensen for Theo Woulard, Alveria McBee, Devon Taylor and Dennis Jackson. Thank you for remembering these folks with your donations to the Center. They are Appreciated.

Our Meals on Wheels deliverers continue to hang in there, even when it’s really cold. We are so thankful for each one of them. Last week’s deliverers were Vernon Brickman, Janice Hood, Peggy Franks, and Wayne Maddox, Karen Dugger and Mary Brown, and Regina Glass, and Janet Taylor. Thanks to all of you for your help.

I want to thank Peggy Franks for getting our weekly menu on Facebook. I’ve had several comments from people that have seen it. If you see something listed that appeals to you come on in and join us, or get your meal to go. Call us at 623-4511 and we will have it ready when you show up. You don’t have to be 55 or older to eat with us. We’ll be glad to have anyone come in. We begin serving around 11:30 and stop around 12:15. Give us a try.

Here’s our menu for the next week:

Thursday – Chicken Strips

Friday – Indian Tacos

Monday – Taco Salad

Tuesday – Salmon

Wednesday – Chicken Fried Steak

Thursday – Feb 11th – Baked Pork Loin

Friday -Feb 12th -Ham and Sweet potatoes

I had some folks comment they liked having the extra Thursday and Friday listed because they don’t get their newspaper until Thursday and they don’t want to miss a good meal. I pray you all stay safe and well. Take care. Til next week.
