Hi everyone! Wasn’t the rain nice? And I love the cooler temps. I guess fall is really here. It’s been a good week at the center. This week will be a busy one as we prepare for our special dinner on Friday during the Cheese Festival. We always look forward to this fundraiser dinner but like everyone else we missed last year due to no Cheese Festival. I’m glad we have it back again this year. Looks like we again had no quilters come in. We might need some new people. There will not be any music and games on Saturday, October 9th. We’ll meet again on October 23rd. There are no trips scheduled at this time. No one seems to want to go anywhere on the bus. If we decided to take the bus somewhere I’ll let you know. We could still use some volunteers to help out on Friday for the dinner. If you can help give us a call at 623-4511 or just show up Friday. We would sure appreciate it. I told you I’d let you know the price of the dinner. It will be the same as it was in 2019. Adults will be $10 and children 12 and under will be $7. These are the ones that delivered meals on wheels last week. Sharon Barnes again helped her mom, Karen Dugger, on Monday. Mary Brown helped Karen on Tuesday. Mary and Karen have decided they need a break for awhile so we need some volunteers to help on Mondays and Tuesdays with this project. It doesn’t take long and there’s usually about 5 or 6 stops to make. Give us a call if you’d like to help us out. Others delivering meals last week were Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We are very blessed to have these folks delivering meals for us. Bill Roper brought in more squash and cucumbers. His garden is really doing good and we appreciate him sharing with us. Kathryn Diamond brought in Best Choice labels and some peppers. Thank you Kathryn! The Saturday night group made a nice monetary donation. We really appreciate that. John Taylor paid membership dues. John is a new member and we’re real glad he decided to join us. We also had some memorial donations. Yvonne Christensen donated in memory of Joy Wills, Marshall Alexander, and Ricky Price. Carol McCrary donated in memorial of Delbert and Nadine Pearson. Jim Strack also donated in memory of Delbert and Nadine Pearson. We are very thankful for all these donations. Here’s our menu for the next few days. It all sounds good to me.

I hope you’ll all be able to get out and enjoy the Cheese Festival. Be sure to go by the old City Hall to see all the quilts that have been brought in to display. And come by for lunch with us. Enjoy your coming week. Take care. Be safe. Till next week……
