SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi everybody! I hope you had a good week. The weather's been nice and now the beautiful leaves are falling like rain. I love to see the trees change to the pretty shades of red and gold. I think this is my favorite time of the year. I hope you are able to get out to see it all.

Last week these folks carried our meals on wheels for us. We really appreciate them. They were Pat Brewer, Sharon Barnes and Karen Dugger, Janice Hood, Curt and Brenda Stein, and Vernon Brickman. Thanks to all of you.

We had some ladies in to quilt off and on. You can quilt any day of the week but their regular quilting day is Thursday. Please feel free to come in and quilt, or even just to visit. They would love to have you join them.

Those quilting last week were Estalene Teply, Gene Matli, Jennie Castleberry, and Judy Curtin.

The exercise group is growing, but there is still room for you. They are up to 17 now. Come on in on Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 9 a.m. to take part. They would love to have you.

Last Saturday night we had 30 people come in to join in the fun with games and music. We missed some of our regulars that weren't there. But we also had some new ones present. Our next scheduled meeting night is Saturday, the 27th. It's the Saturday after Thanksgiving so we all decided we would skip that night. We figured a lot of people would still be busy with family. So our next meeting night will be Saturday, December 11th. We'll see you then.

Richard and Sandra Hightower renewed their memberships. We thank you Richard and Sandra.

Sue Landreth made a donation to the center. We are sure thankful Sue.

We received several memorial donations. They were from Larry and Jaquita Bernhardt for Shirley Wigington, Frank Strack and Charlie Poarch, Larry and Naida Kerr and Larry Major for Bill Roper. Carol Aldous, Wanda Barber, Lisa Nelson, and Teresa Nelson made a donation in memory of Frank Strack. There was an anonymous donation for Mina Green. We really appreciate all these donations and the thoughts that come with them.

Smoky Rogers brought in Best Choice labels. Thank you Smokey.

We have not had much response to our planned bus trips, so we are considering giving our bus back to the state. We'll be discussing this at our January or February meeting. If you would like to see us keep it let us know.

We had a nice dinner for Veterans Day at the Noble House with American Legion. It's always nice to honor our veterans. They gave so much for us. The speaker was John Gates, music was provided by Katie Ballew Lyles, and the food was provided by the Noble House. It was a very enjoyable evening. Here's our menu for the
