SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi everyone! Welcome to 2022! I'm ready to send it back. It's too cold! I don't do cold weather very well. But it'll be spring before we know it. Look how fast Thanksgiving and Christmas slipped up on us. All we can do is hang in there and try to stay warm and well.

Our meal carriers last week were Pat Brewer, Karen Dugger and Mary Brown, and Curt and Brenda Stein. Pat carried meals twice for us and we were closed on Friday. Thank all of you for your help.

Sandra Maddux donated Best Choice labels, Howard Hursh brought in fresh eggs, and Delores Fry brought in cans. We thank you all so much for providing these donations for us. Mae Thompson made a donation for the use of the building for a family dinner. Thank you Mae.

Yvonne Christensen made a donation in memory of Carole Nunn. Thank you Yvonne. Maxine Strack made a donation in memory of her husband, Frank Strack. Thank you Maxine. We're so sorry for your loss.

We're so sad to hear we lost one of our long-time board members, Tim Curtin, this week. Tim was well liked by a lot of people and will truly be missed.

Maxine Strack and Janice and Louis Hood all renewed their memberships. Thanks to all of you. We're so glad to have you with us for another year.

There were no quilters in last week. They have not put a new quilt in the frames. Hopefully they will soon. It looks pretty empty in that part of the building.

Don't forget we'll be meeting for music and games on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. This is open for anyone that would like to join us. If you like to play cards, or dominoes, or pool, or if you just want to hear some good music and visit a while, come on in and join us. Please bring some type of snack food as we all like to eat about 7 p.m. We'll be looking for you.

Well, it's back to the old routine around here. No more days closed for a while. So you can call for a meal to be delivered or picked up. Give us a call at 623-4511.

Here is our menu for the next few days:

Thursday -- Goulash

Friday -- Indian Tacos

Monday -- Taco Salad Tuesday -- Smoked Sausage

Tuesday -- Smoked Sausage and Sauerkraut

Wednesday -- Kiwanis

Thursday (Jan. 13) -- Chicken Strips

Friday (Jan. 14) -- Breaded Chicken Breast

I hope you will all be able to stay in on the really cold days coming up. Try to stay warm and well. There's a lot of Covid out there. And it will probably be around for a while yet. Take care. Til next week...
