EWS

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. I am doing fine with my new pacemaker. It is quite an adjustment for me. I have to keep my phone close by all the time. It is set up to send information to my doctor at certain times. My phone reads my pacemaker to see how it’s going. Its all to high tech for me. I just do what I’m told. John has been keeping a close eye on me to make sure I don’t do anything I’m not supposed too. I’ve been in trouble a couple of times so he calls the daughter and she comes over and chews on me some. I know they are just trying to help me. Its hard to be restricted when you are used to doing whatever you want. Enough about me. Judy Curtin and Naida Kerr were in last Thursday and they finished quilting the quilt in the frame. The frame is empty now. Hopefully Bob and Gene Matli will be able to put another one in soon. The quilting ladies really enjoy getting together to quilt. Estalene Teply renewed her membership last week. Were sure glad to have her as part of our group. Thanks Estalene! Saturday, August 13, the masons will be serving pancakes and all the trimmings from 6 A.M to 10 A.M at the Senior Citizen. Everything they serve is really good. Come on in and have a good breakfast with them and some others. All they ask for is a donation. Saturday night, August 13, well be meeting for music and games and snacks. Well meet from 6 PM to 9 PM. David Green and Wayne Maddux provide the music for us. We have a great time. Come on in and join in the fun. Meals were delivered last week by D’Von Poulson and Susan Shrader, Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood, and Vernon Brickman. Thank you all for sharing your time to provide this service. It is greatly appreciated. Well, there was not a lot of news from the center this week. Exercise continues to meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9AM. The AC is on and the ceiling fans are on so it won’t be too hot. Did you see our nice clean windows? They look so pretty. Thanks again to Janice, Donita, and Maxine. Here is our meals for the next several days. Remember to call before 10 for meals to be delivered, and before noon for meals to go.

Thursday( Aug. 11th) Meatloaf Friday- Ham and Sweet Potatoes Monday- Chicken Strips Tuesday- Goulash Wednesday- Kiwanis meets at noon ( we eat at 11) Thursday( Aug. 18)- Liver and Onions Friday ( Aug. 19th)- Fried Chicken I was notified that the board met and due to inflation and the higher cost of groceries they have decided to increase the price of meals to seven dollars as of September 1st. we regret having to do this but I’m sure you know how the price of groceries has risen. Well still be one to the cheapest full meals in town. It’s a sign of the times.

And don’t forget we have biscuits and gravy and other things every Thursday morning at 8 A.M. all we ask for is donation. Well, the covid is making another run through the area. Be careful when you go out. Wear your mask. Wash your hands when you get home. Try to stay safe and well. Till next week….
