SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi everybody! I hope you’re all doing good. I’m actually writing this on Sunday evening. I’m anxious to see how much snow we’ll be getting on Monday. Of course they change the forecast every time you watch. Yesterday we were gonna get six inches on Monday and more on Tuesday. This evening we’re down to between one and three inches. It’ll be interesting to see if we get any.

Our meals on wheels deliveries this week were Susan Schrader, D’von Poulson, Pat Brewer, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Sharon Barnes. Thank you all so much for sharing your time with us for this program. So many people depend on it.

Watonga First Baptist Church and Mabel Rice both donated Best Choice labels. Thank you so much for thinking of us. Every little bit of income helps.

A donation was made in memory of Mina Green. She was a faithful member for many years.

The quilters got the quilt put in the frame for Connie Burcham. It’s really pretty and colorful. It looks like there will be a lot of quilting but it’ll be really pretty when it’s done. Our quilting ladies are really good. While you are out and about one day come by and see it.

We had 22 people come in Saturday night to play games. We didn’t have any music to listen to, as all our musicians were unavailable. We still had a good time and, as always, we had plenty of good food to share. I doubt we will be getting together on Saturday Nov. 26 as it’s Thanksgiving weekend and most folks will be busy. I’ll let you know if it changes.

Mark your calendars, we will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24-25. We’re having our Thanksgiving dinner on Friday, Nov. 18. It will be turkey and dressing.

Here’s our menu for the next few days. Call us for a meal to be delivered or to order meals to go. We’ll get it ready for you.

Thursday Nov. 17 Liver and onions Friday Turkey and dressing Monday Vegetable soup and chili Tuesday Baked chicken Wednesday No Kiwanis Chicken strips Thursday Nov 24 -Friday Nov. 25 – Closed for Thanksgiving holiday I hope you have a good week. Enjoy the snow. Stay well and safe.

‘Til next week …
