Hi, everyone! Here I am again to bring you the news from the senior citizens center. I hope you are all well. I hear the flu is really spreading. Schools at Thomas and Weatherford closed some because they had so many kids out with flu. Take care of yourselves. Get those masks out again if need be. I keep some in the car all the time. I don’t always remember to wear them, but I have them if I want one.
Last Saturday night we had 17 in to play games. We had three tables of card players, three people playing pool and two playing music for us. We had a good time and still had plenty of good food. We voted not to meet on Christmas Eve, but instead we’ll meet on New Year's Eve. I don’t think any of us will be staying up until midnight, but we’ll have fun until 9 o’clock! Make plans to come and join us.
Last week our meal deliverers were Susan Schrader and D’von Poulson, Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. Thank you all so much for your help.
We had several donations of various kinds last week. D’von Poulson and Loretta Grove brought in Best Choice labels. Leroy Lage donated Pioneer Telephone coffee cups for the fundraiser dinner. Mickey Morgan and Vernon Brickman made monetary donations and our Saturday night card party group donated to the center. I bought the quilt they sold and that money went to the center also. Thank you all so very much for your donations, we really do appreciate them all.
I was so glad to get the quilt it is very pretty.
There was a donation made in the memory of Mina Green. Thank you for your donation in memory of her.
Larry and Naida Kerr renewed their membership. We are so glad to have them as part of the group. Larry has been our president this year but he is giving it up at the end of December. As far as I know there is no one volunteering to take the position. It’s not a hard job so surely someone will come forward and volunteer to do it. We have a couple of weeks to see.
This is our menu for the next few days. Call before 10 for a delivered meal or before noon for a meal to go. We’ll get them ready for you. And remember we have biscuits and gravy on Thursday mornings. It can be fixed to go also. We only ask for a donation for that. Our meals are $7.
