EWS
Hey, everybody! We made it to 2023, I hope you all had a good New Year’s Eve and Day. I know 2023 has to be better than 2022. At last we can hope it will be.
We went to the Senior Citizen’s on Saturday night and played dominoes and pool. Others played cards. David Green played music for us. He knows I like the Eagles, so he played some for me. I appreciate it. We had 23 show up for fun and games and some really good food. This coming Saturday, Jan. 14, we’ll be meeting for gamesand music at 6 p.m.
Recent meal deliverers were Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman.
Recently we had five firefighters step in to assist and we really appreciated that!
Sandy Maddux donated Best Choice lables and Eloise Espy made a donation to the center. Thank you both.
We received a check from Save-A-Label for Best Choice UPC labels we had submitted. Estalene does a good job getting the labels all together, counted and mailed in. Thank you, Estalene, for all the work this entails. It is appreciated.
James and Karen Crawford donated in memory of Carol Martin. Thank you for this special gift.
Monday, Jan. 16, the Cheyenne Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m.
This is our menu for the next few days. You younger folks need to give us a try. Our food is good and the price is reasonable at $7.
Thursday Jan. 12 – Sausage and sauerkraut Thursday morning at 8 a.m. we serve biscuits and gravy to anyone who comes in. This is by donation.
Friday- Ham and sweet potatoes Monday Chili and Soup Tuesday Spaghetti and meat sauce Wednesday Kiwanis meets at noon and we eat at 11 Thursday Jan. 19 - Liver and onions Friday- Fried Chicken We could sure use better attendance for our programs. Our numbers have gone down since Covid in 2020. We do have a good number who come in for exercise class. It has built up to about 20. They meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. and is open to the public, you don’t have to be a member to attend.
There’s a group that plays cards – usually SkipBO – on Friday. If you like to play come on in and join us. They have a good time.
We still have a few ladies that come in Thursday mornings to quilt. They always welcome anyone that likes to quilt, men or women. If you like to quilt or want to learn how, come in on Thursday morning and meet them. They usually quit by lunch.
We always have a big jigsaw puzzle out to be worked on. Some people really enjoy doing that, but it stresses me out if I can’t find a piece pretty quick.
Well, I’ve rambled enough so I’ll call it quits. I hope you all had a good New Year. Stay safe and well. ‘Til next week …
