The material is engineered wood fiber, a specially processed, eco-friendly surfacing material made from 100% wood designed primarily for playground safety. It consists of randomized, fibrous wood particles that 'knit' together to create a cushioned, slip-resistant surface. The fibrous, interlocking nature of EWF allows water to drain through, ensuring the playground is usable soon after rain. The material is routinely submitted by the company for certification by the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association.
