Residents of Geary living in the Canadian County precinct soon will be able to vote in the Calumet School Special Bond Election on March 2. Those living in the southeastern part of Geary are eligible to vote in this election.

The bond proposal is for $2.5 million and would have a `NO Projected Tax Increase’ stipulation.

This money would go toward a new ag barn, air conditioning for the gymnasium, and a locker room addition at the hitting facility.

For those wanting absentee ballots, you must send in your applications for the ballot no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 to the County Election Board. The application can be done in person at the County Election Board or by mail, fax, or email.

Those interested in voting in person may visit their polling place on March 2 located at the New Life Assembly of God Church two miles south of Geary on Highway 281.

“I hope that each of you will continue to support the positive momentum for Calumet Public School on March 2,” Calumet Superintendent Brandon Voss said in a press release regarding the bond proposition.
