OKLAHOMA CITY — Blaine County 4-H Members receive High Honors at State 4-H Wheat Show Banquet held on November 17 at the Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Four-teen of the top twentyfive samples were shown by Blaine County 4-H members. Listed below are the winners from Blaine County with the variety of wheat they exhibited. The contest is sponsored by the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, Oklahoma Wheat Research Foundation, Oklahoma Genetics Incorporated, Westbred, Oklahoma State University, and the Oklahoma Department of Career Technology and Education. Scholarships are funded by Wheat Check-off dollars and awarded to the top five 4-H entries and the top five FFA entries.

Receiving third place and a $1000.00 Scholarship was Tyler Sawyer. Fourth Place went to Bryson Sawyer. He also received a $1000.00 Scholarship. Both boys exhibited Double Stop CL Plus, and they are members of the Okeene 4-H Club. Jayce Schultz of Okeene 4-H was 6th with her Double Stop variety and 24th with Gallagher variety. Logan Chance of Okeene 4-H placed 7th with her Smith’s Gold Variety and 10th with her Double Stop CL Plus variety. Placing 12th place was Grant Robison, Okeene 4-H with a variety of OK Corral. Avery Fisher, Okeene, also exhibited Double Stop CL Plus and she placed 14th. Baylea Robison showed OK Corral and she placed 15th. Exhibiting Gallagher was Landon Poe, Okeene 4-H, he placed 19th. Brynn Roberts, Okeene 4-H, had Gallagher as her exhibit and placed 20th. Twenty-first went to Bryer Roberts of Okeene with his exhibit of Gallagher. Luke Poe, Okeene 4-H placed 22nd with his exhibit of Showdown and Caton Cope of Watonga 4-H was 25th with her exhibit of LCS Fusion AX.

The visual contest was held in July and the top twenty-five get to move on the Milling and Baking portion of the contest to determine the winners. This was a great accomplishment for these 4-H Members.
