State Parks Plan Multiple Fall Events

With fall right around the corner, the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department is sharing ways that Oklahomans can enjoy the cooler temperatures, explore the outdoors and see the natural beauty of our state parks.

From hiking through the foliage to making eyecatching autumn-themed crafts, there are plenty of reasons to visit a state park this fall. Many of the parks have planned fallthemed activities and events.

Events in Western & Northwestern Oklahoma State Parks: Little Sahara State Park Saturday, October 21 Spooktacular!

Join the Waynoka Chamber of Commerce for this year’s Halloween Spooktacular! This fun event includes a parade from Little Sahara to downtown Waynoka, as well as a chili cook off, costume contest, pumpkin carving and decorating contest and much more!

Roman Nose State Park Friday, October 27 Saturday, October 28 Halloween Trail Come walk the Halloween trail at Roman Nose State Park on October 27 and 28. Guests will receive a hayride to the beginning of the trail. Activities begin at dark.

Boiling Springs State Park Friday, October 27 -Saturday, October 28 Decorated Campsites Boiling Springs State Park will have decorated campsites on October 27 and 28 in the White Tail and Springhill campgrounds.

A winner for best decorated campsite will be chosen from each campground with an overall park winner. Judging will be held on the evening of Saturday, October 28.
