As of November 10, there were 140,157 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus in the state, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. 20,632 of those are active. There were 7 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. This current death toll stands at 1,451.

In Blaine County, according to emergency management officials, there are 44 active cases.

There 6 cases in Geary; 8 cases in Canton; 2 cases in Longdale; zero cases in Okeene, one in Hitchcock and 26 in Watonga. The cases are noted by zip code, so those ill may not live inside the city limits, just in the vicinity.

There are 10,111,077 cases cumulative reported nationally, up 119,386 since the last numbers were released by Johns Hopkins University. There have been 238,256 deaths, up 590 since last report. Active cases in the U.S. tally at 5,943,976, up 71,442 while recoveries stand at 3,928,845 up 47,354 since the last report was made.

COVID-19 is still very relevant and is in our communities. According to the CDC, the best way to slow the spread of COVID-19 is through social distancing, wearing a face covering, washing hands regularly with soap and water and routinely disinfecting surfaces with approved products according to product instructions.
