A step in the right direction implies doing good, doing right, thus not doing certain things that bring harm to others. We should always refrain from doing injury to anyone.
Jesus’s teaching from Matthew 7:12, “the golden rule,” simply put says, “All the things we wish other people should do for us, we should so do for them.” By doing so, we will fulfill the law and teaching of the prophets.
This is probably the most universally famous saying and teaching of Jesus. It was words which had never been said before. Jesus, through His saying, introduced a new view of life and of life’s obligations. Do you desire friendship? Then be a friend. Are you in need of kindness? Then show kindness toward others. Is there a void of love in your life? Then love others as you desire them to love you and care for you.
Why not make this world a better place by taking a “step in the right direction,” and treat others as you want to be treated.
Now that’s a step in the right direction.
