According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oleta Pesina, 43, was northbound on OK-58 about a mile south of Canton when she crossed the center line and left the roadway. The 2004 Ford Explorer she was driving continued into the ditch and struck a concrete culvert. The SUV rolled threequarters of a time and came to a rest on the passenger’s side in the ditch, pinning Pesina for 25 to 30 minutes.
The Canton Fire Department responded to the scene and freed the driver, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the collision. She was transported via air ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in stable condition with head, arm, leg and internal injuries. Pesina was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, the report shows.
