Make sure the volume on your PC (or other device) and the Ustream volume are turned up. The meeting will be electronically recorded and audio livestreamed.
One of the items in the commissioners’ packets is a proposed project is to construct a taxilane and apron on the west side of the Watonga airport.
The project is to prepare the land and begin initial development on the west side of the airport.
This will open the area for the addition of new hangars and facilities.
Additional development on the east side is a nogo because of design standards and airspacing requirements.
Watonga is considered a general airport, with a base population of 18 aircraft and a newly rehabbed 4,000 foot runway The improvements would upgrade facility safety standards and airport capacity. The funding for the project include the OAC providing $500,000; the FAA through two programs kicking in $692,530; and the sponsor providing $102,000.
Federal grants require 10% matching funds while state grants require 5% matching funds.
Commission funding is dependent on availability of state funds. There was no indication when the approval or disapproval of the project would be announced.
