According to Jodi Ayers, a counselor at Watonga Elementary, the school has been given the opportunity to have Laura Kent, an artist here in Oklahoma, visit every week to teach a curriculum lesson to the PreK 5th grade students.
Kent will be teaching the students through the first of May and will introduce all types of art while giving the students hands-on experience. Watonga Elementary is one of only a handful of schools in Oklahoma that received this grant and it has been fantastic for the students.This grant is funded through the Oklahoma Department of Education.
