Bill Would Change School Board Elections

A bill that would allow school board elections to be held in June and November has left its committee, House Elections and Ethics and can now be heard in the House Oversight Committee It was sponsored by Rep. Chris Banning, R-Bixby.

The Watonga Lions Club presented a check to Patt Curtin for the Liberty Theatre facade work. The money was from the annual LIons Club feed fundraiser last month.One half, $5,000 went to the theater, the other half went toward Lions Club scholarships.

Ribbon Cut on Gym, Board Turns to Track

When the Watonga School Board met Monday evening in regular session, they huddled in the new administration meeting room in the newly-opened gym.There are still some items on the punch list for the facility to be complete. New wrestling mats were a topic of discussion.

Basketball Homecoming Court

Last week featured wrestling homecoming, this week is basketball. This is perhaps the last high school crowning that will take place in the ‘old’ gym.
