Ten Cases of Measles Verified in Oklahoma

In an unusual step, The Oklahoma State Department of Health has issued its second public exposure notice- this time, for the Oklahoma Children's Hospital at OU Health.On March 31, the department identified and began an immediate investigation of a confirmed measles case.

Band on the Run

On March 5 the Watonga High School band traveled to Alva to compete in a district band contest. The kids played very well and received an excellent rating (II) on stage, and a superior rating (I) in sight reading.

Calumet Bond Goes to Voters May 13

Calumet voters will soon have the option to support a bond issue for the school district.The special election for the bond proposition will be held May 13. The proposition is for $6,175,000 to build and/or equip, repair or remodel school buildings.

Man Held On Million Dollar Bond

According to a press release from the City of Watonga. Police were called to the 800 block of Villa Drive in the early morning hours of April 4. On the scene an unresponsive individual was found in the home. The resident, later identified as Wendell Rednose, was pronounced deceased.

Law enforcement remains on the scene of a reported death on Villa Drive, Watonga. It has been indicated the deceased is Wendell Rednose. Other reports indicate a family member has been taken in for questioning. We will post more information as the facts become available.
