Fay Oil Man Files to Run for State Senate

Body
Hi everyone, my name is Brady Butler. This is to announce that I have officially filed with the state election board to run for the Oklahoma state senate seat in district 26. I must say at the very outset that until quite recently, this is not something that I ever even considered. For most of my adult life I thought the whole political mess was a big sham, politicians were a bunch of crooks, and that there was no hope of ever fixing it, but in recent years I have learned some things about our founding that have really given me hope, and with hope comes the will to fight.

SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Body
Hi Everybody! Once again we missed out on the rain Saturday. We had gone to a family birthday party at Newalla but we got caught in it west of Oklahoma City on our way home. It really poured for a while. There was a bad accident west of El Reno. We, and several others, got off at the Fort Reno exit and took Route 66 for a ways. The traffic was backed up in both directions for miles. We got home and it was dry as a bone.

Saturday late afternoon, the Matrons Rook Club met at the Sr. Center to enjoy our monthly senior rook playing. All of a sudden, someone said "oh my goodness, what is that.” We looked out the double doors and saw that it was actually raining!! Since we haven't been blessed with rain for quite a long while we stood there watching it. It did not last over 15 minutes but it was nice while it lasted.

It's A Virtual World

I don't know if I'll ever get used to this virtual world thing but I'm giving it my best shot. My new virtual reality headset is a joy and extremely frustrating at the same time and seriously kicking my tuchas.

We’ve had a busy week here at the museum. We had the third graders come on Tuesday for Frontier Days in celebration of the Cheyenne Arapaho land run of April 19, 1892. Watonga was 130 years old on Tuesday. The Watonga Republican editor Graham Dudley gave the students an interesting presentation concerning the process of producing the newspaper. Vicki Williams brought her spinning wheel and demonstrated how it was used. I wish I could have been at each station to hear the ladies interact with the students. I could tell by the look on the kids’ faces they were enjoying each station. One boy told me that making the butter was the best and he was going to do that from now on. Some thought washing clothes on a scrub board was too much work. I bet the ones doing it back then thought that too. Watonga middle school student council students came to help. They were very good at organizing and playing games with the third graders.
