We had seven visitors this week. A man that went to school in Taloga remembered coming to the museum for a tour when he was in school. We had a group of Post Masters come for a tour this week. One from Simpsonville, South Carolina and four from Oklahoma: Westville, Cleveland, Idabel, and Hydro. They were very interested in our history and very knowledgeable about antiques. I told them that T.B. used to be postmaster here in Watonga but resigned when he became Territorial governor. The lady from Cleveland asked if T.B. was related to their postman whose last name was Ferguson. I told her Governor Ferguson was from Sedan, Kansas. She said that it is possible because it isn’t very far from Cleveland, she said she was going to ask the man when she got back. One of the ladies was from Idabel, Oklahoma. I mentioned that I had a brother that lives in Idabel, and one in Broken Bow. She knew my brother who lives in Broken Bow.

Watonga native Mae Hartfield celebrated her 101st birthday on Thursday, April 7, at the Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher. Residents enjoyed cake and punch and sang Happy Birthday for Hartfield, who posed for photos with friends and the Cimarron staff. Her family visited her later that day. Happy birthday Aunt Mae!

A work day was held Saturday April 2 at the Ferguson Chapel. We had some very special helpers from the Middle School Stuco group. They were very hard workers and got the job done in very short order. Included in the group were Kinze Cowan, Abril Macias, Serenity Lasier, Delilah Fritz, Johanna Del Valle Vivar, Gabe Lowry and Keela Cowan with Sherry Cowan being the sponsor. They very happily worked for donuts.

A couple of months ago David and I adopted a four-year-old Yorkie from the local animal shelter and I've been wondering ever since just who is training who. The first thing I did when we got her home was name her Tilda.
