These kids took advantage of the firefighters’ hoses at the Independence Day celebration at Huff Lorang Park on July 4. Even though nearly two weeks have elapsed, the heat has not abated any, and it is a sure bet they wish it would be hooked up and turned on again.

When it met in regular session July 8, the Watonga School Board handled its policy on how teachers and staff electronically communicate with students.The move was mandated by the Legislature, which passed a bill this session on the matter.
