The City of Geary budget seems to be on a more even keel than in years previous. At least the council is better able to determine where the town is as far as resources are concerned. This year tht equates to the council being able to announce year end longevity bonuses for employees.

Adulting is No Fun, Honestly

As I sit here trying to write this week's column, I'm finding it hard with my limited attention span to concentrate on the task at hand with David sitting next to me in his recliner shredding papers like a Watergate conspirator. Why is he doing that, you ask? Well, I'll tell ya.
Soon the piles of limbs and brush from summer storms and fall cleanups around town will disappear courtesy of the city. An ordinance has been put in place, allowing city crews to pick up only piles of such debris, provided they are streetside and don’t contain any other trash or garbage.

In response to citizen demand, the city has walked back its hard line on brush and limb pickup. This week city owned trash trucks began the heavy lifting on townwide cleanup of storm debris and accumulated brush.
