On August 15th, 2021, Kabul fell to the Taliban following the Biden administration’s neartotal withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan. Two years ago, the world watched as our commander in chief, Joe Biden presided over some of the most tragic and deadly policy decisions in American history.

Mayor Talks Limb, Brush Pickup

Thank you to everyone who attended (83 registered) the “Back to School” event Saturday, Aug. 19 at the TB Ferguson Home Museum. Despite the 105 degrees (official airport reading), the band under Lincoln Spurlin sounded great with various percussion, brass and wind instruments.
The Eagle Band performed Saturday at the Ferguson Home and Museum during the Friends of the Ferguson’s back to school event. The organization gave away two bicycles and refreshments were served.

Get STEAM-Y at Oklahoma History Center

OKLAHOMA CITY — From 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, the Oklahoma History Center (OHC) will host “STEAM Night at the Museum” for students of all ages and their families to explore the wonders of learning about science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Hi, everybody! It’s great to be here on a cool Sunday evening to write the news from the Center. I say it’s cool because I’m in my house, not outside where it’s baking. I had to get out for a few minutes this afternoon and I noticed the bank sign said it was 110 degrees. I didn’t stay out long.

Grandkids Are Sports

It's that time of year, folks! Our grandkids have signed up to play sports and Papa and I are ready to watch them. Right now, we have three participating, but one will graduate next year and another will just be starting so we have many years to look forward to more games.
