Sage Hanrahan of Okarche exhibited the National Champion Lim-Flex cow-calf pair at the Limousin Junior National Show. Her heifer WLR Fiona ET went on to win Supreme Female at the All American Limousin Futurity, becoming the first female in breed history to win the title twice. Meat Processors Now Eligible for CARES ACT Grant

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry received $10 million in grants for the Food Supply Stability Plan for Oklahoma meat processors. The money is funneled through the state’s CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund and the announcement came just weeks after Oklahoma Congressman Frank Lucas introduced the federal RAMP UP Act to plan and accomplish facilities upgrades to existing processors. The two are separate programs but both work to shore up a food supply chain that was threatened by closures of meat packing plants nationwide during the earliest days of the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States.

2020 Fresh Paint Days Application

Fresh Paint Days is a Keep Oklahoma Beautiful program designed to encourage organization and volunteers to seek out unsightly community structures and renovate them with the creative use of resources. Willing volunteers make use of donated paint and a stipend for supplies to transform their building with the application of fresh paint, a little creativity and a lot of elbow grease.

OESC Paid Over $2.1B in Benefits Since March

Accident Sends One to Hospital

A Blaine County accident July 8 sent an Oklahoma City woman to the hospital. According to the report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, about 9:30 a.m., Alawi Zayed Ahmed, 30, of Riverdale, Calif., was headed south on State Highway 58 in a 2016 Kenworth.
