Early Voting Begins Wednesday

Early voting begins Wednesday November 2, 2022, for voters in Blaine County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.

Second Hydro Accident Injures Two

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a two-vehicle accident, the second in as many days, sent two area residents to the hospital. The report shows that Billy Droke, 84, of Oklahoma City was stopped at a stop sign on CR 1022 at Oklahoma 58 in the Caddo county portion of Hydro.

Blaine County 4-H was represented at the West District Leadership Conference by four 4-H Members: Avery Fisher, Kadence Lewis, Jack Luckie and Jayce Schutz. Sponsors with the group were: Tara Fisher, volunteer 4-H leader, Becky Bedwell and Dana Baldwin, OSU extension educators.

Geary’s First Native American Festival Shines

Native American dances. Tractor show. Merchandise and food sales. Live music. An open museum. These were key ingredients in Geary’s Native 66 Festival held Oct 22 on the town’s Main Street. It was a nice start for a first-time effort.

Watonga Student Injured in Gun Incident

A benefit yard sale is planned at 8 a.m. Oct. 27 at 520 N. Weigle and will continue both Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29 to benefit an injured Watonga student. Cards and gifts will also be forwarded to the family and the injured student in hospital.

Two youngsters examine the dogs available at a doggie adoption event held Oct. 22 at Watonga Lumber and Hardware. Because the animal control facility was full the event was held to publicize the need for adoptive homes. The plan worked, with three of six available dogs finding forever homes.
