When the Blaine County Commission met Monday in regular session, it was a straight-forward gathering. The commission lifted the matter of a lease between the county and Welch State Bank from the table. It had been tabled pending delivery of more information on the lease.

About 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19, calls started coming into the Geary Police Department about a semi traveling west on Main Street at a high rate of speed. An officer located the truck and attempted to make a stop at the intersection of Main and Galena streets.

We had a couple from out of town come for a visit Saturday. Louise Dunn and I continued straightening the old office. Mostly Louise D. did the work because of my back. It’s really hard for me to go up and down the stairs, let alone carry something up or down. It sure looks nicer now.

The City of Watonga has learned it is a finalist for a $1,000 prize from Keep Oklahoma Beautiful as a result of the April Great American Cleanup. City Manager Karrie Beth Little said the use of grant money really boosted the amount of trash the city was able to collect.
